Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing reconciliations, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to diverse financial projects, including property expense analysis and quarterly reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, including preparing journal entries.
• Perform account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of recorded transactions.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and address discrepancies promptly.
• Organize and clean financial records to support refinancing and credit line applications.
• Evaluate property-related expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities during rehabilitation efforts.
• Prepare quarterly financial reports and assist with tax filing requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve financial concerns and provide strategic recommendations.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Track rental income and vacancy rates to support accurate financial forecasting. Requirements
• Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Experience in Great Plains
• Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entries.
• Proficiency in account and bank reconciliations.
• Familiarity with organizing financial records for audits or refinancing purposes.
• Ability to analyze property expenses and identify cost efficiencies.
• Experience preparing quarterly reports and supporting tax filings.
• Solid understanding of accounting standards and regulations.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for stakeholder collaboration.
