Position Overview: Inventory Management Specialist
As an Inventory Management Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring seamless production and inventory processes. This dynamic position combines analytical thinking, operational oversight, and collaboration to manage the lifecycle of production—from work orders to inventory transactions. You’ll directly contribute to the success of a company on a mission to create a meaningful difference, one pet bowl at a time.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Owning Work Order Management
+ Oversee the work order process from start to finish for production, packaging, and co-pack operations.
+ Validate all work order details—materials used, labor hours, and quantities— to ensure accuracy and reliability.
+ Investigate variances beyond set tolerances and collaborate with the accounting team to resolve discrepancies.
+ Reconcile labor hours accurately to maintain precise data integrity.
Taking the Lead on Inventory Control
+ Verify inbound shipments against purchase orders and address any variances with procurement managers.
+ Record and manage all incoming raw materials, packaging, and co-pack shipments.
+ Execute inventory transfers and adjustments, maintaining accurate records and transaction files.
+ Organize and complete weekly cycle counts across all inventory locations to ensure accurate stock levels.
Data Reporting & Insights
+ Create and support weekly and monthly variance reports, including material usage, inventory discrepancies, scrap levels, and cost variances.
+ Collaborate with teams to identify insights and improve processes based on data analyses.

What You Bring to the Table:
+ At least 3+ years of experience in inventory management, production scheduling, or business operations.
+ An associate degree (or higher) in business, operations, supply chain, or a related field.
+ A deep understanding of inventory control processes, financial/reporting knowledge, and production variances.
+ Expertise in tools like Microsoft Office and production management software. Prior experience with QAD a plus!
+ A solid foundation in project management, with a focus on accurate execution and scalability.
