Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in New York, New York. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and a passion for maintaining accurate financial data. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of accounts payable records and supporting essential cleanup efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough reviews and cleanup of master data related to accounts payable accounts.

• Reconcile discrepancies in account records to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel functions for data analysis and reporting.

• Collaborate with team members to streamline data management processes.

• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial documentation.

• Perform periodic audits to verify the accuracy of accounts payable information.

• Provide support for additional accounting tasks as required.

• Ensure adherence to company policies and accounting standards.

• Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable or general accounting roles.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and data analysis.

• Demonstrated ability to perform data cleansing and reconciliation tasks.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

• Familiarity with accounting software is a plus.
