    Summary Statement

    The Rink Supervisor acts as the lead at the skate rental counter and assists with a variety of duties as requested to support smooth rink operations. This role requires strong leadership and customer service skills to ensure excellent service and effective team support. The position is open to all individuals aged 18 and older, works up to 19 hours per week, and is designated as At-Will.

     

    Idaho IceWorld, is Idaho's premier indoor family ice skating and entertainment center. We offer adult and youth hockey leagues, figure skating programs, Learn-To-Skate and Learn-To-Play Hockey programs, and public skating sessions.

    Essential Functions

    + Acts as a lead to employees assigned to the skate rental counter. Provides a high level of customer service to customers.

    + Performs cash handling duties.

    + Performs regular janitorial duties.

    + Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.

    Requirements

    Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training

    + One year experience working with the general public in a customer service type setting.

    + Knowledge of: basic computer programs; general customer service techniques; basic hockey and figure skating equipment; and ice rink operations.

    + Ability to: interact with the general public and effectively handle complaints; operate skate sharpening and repair equipment; make simple mathematical calculations; display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City employees, the general public and other organizations; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations; maintain prompt and regular attendance; and perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.

    Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training

    + One year experience working in an ice rink facility providing supervision or direction to employees.

    Special Requirements

    Applicants must be able to pass:

    + City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation

    Physical Efforts

    + While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, occasionally lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds and rarely lifting/carrying up to 75 pounds. Also, the employee is frequently pushing/pulling up to 10 pounds, occasionally pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds and rarely pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds. The noise level is occasionally moderate. Work includes sensory ability to talk, hear and touch. Work in this position also includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Employees will sit, stand, walk, reach and grasp. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.

    Working Environment

    + The work environment will include inside conditions, outdoor weather conditions, extreme temperatures, areas of dust, odors, mist and gases or other airborne matter. Employees are exposed to mechanical hazards. Work includes protected exposure to chemicals.

    + This position works: evenings and weekends as required.
