Description

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead and manage the financial operations of our client’s rapidly growing manufacturing company based in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a key hands-on and strategic leadership role ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong expertise in accounting, compliance, and strategic financial planning.

As the Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring financial integrity, driving operational efficiency, and delivering critical insights to support executive decision-making. This position is available due to an upcoming retirement, offering a unique opportunity to step into a well-established role with room for impact and growth.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee, perform and lead comprehensive accounting functions, including billing, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and cost accounting.

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and tax compliance reports.

• Manage cash flow, funding balances, and customer credit approvals to ensure financial stability.

• Process weekly payroll and monitor payments for accounts, debts, and loans.

• Develop and maintain documented accounting policies and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal financial regulations.

• Organize and prepare quarterly and annual financial reports for management review and audits.

• Provide financial analysis and recommendations on capital investments, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.

• Lead efforts to define and implement operational best practices to optimize financial performance.

• Maintain organized records of transactions, payments, debts, and audits for reference and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with a focus on accounting, or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or financial management.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license is required.

• Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, and standard cost accounting practices.

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS accounting standards, and financial regulations.

• Exceptional skills in budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with team members and senior executives.

• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities to guide and support accounting staff.
