    A leading organization in the Industrial Products and Electrical Equipment industry is looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team in Rocky Hill, Connecticut.     Key Responsibilities:

    + Invoice Processing:

    + Review, code, and process vendor invoices in compliance with company guidelines and policies.

    + Match invoices to purchase orders, packing slips, and other supporting documents to ensure accuracy.

    + Payment Management:

    + Prepare and schedule check runs, ACH transfers, and wire payments for vendor invoices.

    + Monitor payment deadlines to ensure timely payments and resolve any payment discrepancies.

    + Vendor Relations:

    + Communicate with vendors regarding invoice-related issues, resolving billing discrepancies promptly and professionally.

    + Manage vendor inquiries related to payment status and maintain strong vendor relationships.

    + Data Entry and Recordkeeping:

    + Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records in the accounting system.

    + Assist in month-end closing tasks, including the reconciliation of accounts payable sub-ledgers to the general ledger.

    + Compliance and Audits:

    + Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.

    + Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

    + Collaboration:

    + Work closely with the purchasing and inventory teams to ensure proper documentation and alignment with invoices.

    + Assist in improving accounts payable processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

    Requirements

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    + Education:

    + Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience is also acceptable.

    + Experience:

    + At least 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role; experience in the Industrial Products and Electrical Equipment industry is a plus.

    + Technical Skills:

    + Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or other ERP systems) is required.

    + Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., v-lookups, pivot tables).

    + Attention to Detail:

    + Exceptional accuracy in data entry, invoice verification, and payment processing.

    + Communication Skills:

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with vendors, internal teams, and management.

    + Organizational Skills:

    + Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

    + Problem-Solving Skills:

    + Analytical mindset with the ability to resolve discrepancies and streamline processes.
