Description

We are looking for a part time experienced Staff Accountant for our client in Harahan, Louisiana. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting responsibilities, including managing tax filings, reconciling financial records, and supporting overall financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail to contribute to a dynamic environment. This is a long-term contract opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

• Oversee sales tax filings, including accurate calculations and timely submissions.

• Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

• Manage the general ledger, ensuring all accounts are updated and balanced.

• Collaborate with internal teams to address discrepancies and resolve accounting issues.

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and documentation for audits.

• Monitor tax deadlines and ensure all filings are completed on time.

• Support month-end and year-end closing processes with accuracy and efficiency.

• Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial procedures and controls.

Requirements

• Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing.

• Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and compliance.

• Proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and journal entries.

• Familiarity with preparing corporate tax returns and related documentation.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.

• Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
