Description

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join a fast-paced, multi-unit organization. This role is responsible for processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll for a large, distributed workforce across several states, ensuring accuracy in timekeeping, wage calculations, and compliance with labor regulations. You’ll serve as a key point of contact for field managers, handling inquiries related to pay, time adjustments, and employment records. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in managing complex payroll scenarios, including multiple pay rates, tip credits, garnishments, and union agreements. Familiarity with leave policies, direct deposit workflows, and payroll tax filings is essential. Experience with Paycom or similar systems is a plus.

What You’ll Do:

+ Process payroll for a large, multi-state employee base with accuracy and timeliness

+ Collaborate with HR and operations to ensure smooth onboarding, offboarding, and time tracking

+ Manage leave requests, wage verifications, unemployment claims, and benefit deductions

+ Ensure compliance with all relevant wage and hour laws, including union and FMLA regulations

+ Support audits, maintain payroll records, and contribute to process improvements

Requirements

What You Bring:

+ 3+ years of payroll experience in a multi-location environment

+ Strong understanding of payroll systems, tax filings, and labor law compliance

+ Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred

+ Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
