    Product Design Engineer

     

    This position designs, develops and enhances new and existing products/product lines. Evaluates and recommends specifications and ensures products meet the technical and functional requirements.

    Job Summary

    + Recommends and follows reliable, efficient, and cost effective procedures

    + Performs feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs

    + Works with other members of the engineering team to ensure project milestones are met and that projects are completed according to established timelines

    + Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application

    + Designs products and systems to interface machines, hardware and software

    + Produce engineering documentation to support the design

    + Provide adequate information to manufacturing and purchasing to reproduce the product

    + Provide technical support to all employees and customers when needed.

     

    Required Skills and Qualifications

     

    + Ability to travel <25%

    + CAD Proficiency

    + Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

    + Effective communication and teamwork skills

     

    Required Experience and Education

     

    + H.S. Diploma or GED

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

    + Industry experience a plus

     

    This is a generic job posting for a Product Design Engineer. Depending on the candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, they will be hired into an entry (I) level, intermediate (II) level or expert (III) level job and pay scale.
