Position Summary
This position will be a highly visible technical Staff Software Engineer/Lead on the growing Interoperability Compliance program. You will be responsible for the technical strategy, direction and leadership of the Patient Access API. A significant requirement for this position will be to translate CMS and state Interoperability compliance regulations into efficient, highly functional code using the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) format. Expectation will be to ensure 100% adherence to all CMS and state Interoperability compliance regulations in advance of the specified due dates. Fostering a strong collaborative environment within your team and also with Interoperability business leadership, architecture, partner teams, and other organizations, will be critical to success. This position will also be expected to perform occasional mentoring of new Software Engineers.
_Major Responsibilities:_
+ Ensure the technical direction of the design adheres to the architecture solution and roadmap.
+ Translate business needs to create high-quality requirements.
+ Ensure successfully delivery of key Prior Authorization and Provider Access functionality as mandated by the significant CMS 0057-f mandate, the additional new state compliance mandates, as well as the emerging non-compliance initiatives that bring significant value to Aetna, our members, providers and the entire healthcare industry.
+ Responsible for planning with the architecture runway and technology strategy in mind.
+ Leads team in technical feasibility exploration and in alignment with architectural guardrails and engineering best practices as part of solution analysis/ discovery.
+ Ensure that all compliance requirements are delivered successfully, before the mandated deadlines.
+ Issues are triaged and addressed, and all pertinent issues are brought to Digital Data Analytics Technology (DDAT) leadership in an organized, succinct manner.
+ Collaborate with Interoperability business product owners and managers to understand their priorities, problems, and goals.
+ Apply an understanding of the Company’s business, building strong and sustainable relationships, and interacting with all levels of the organization.
Required Qualifications
+ 7+ years of software engineering experience.
+ 3+ years of engineering experience on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
+ 4+ years of deep experience with the CMS Interoperability compliance regulations.
+ 4+ years of experience working with Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR); including HL7 and Smart on FHIR.
+ 4+ years of experience working with DAG’s using apache Airflow and specifically Google Cloud Composer.
+ 4+ years of experience working on delivery teams dedicated to compliance of all CMS and state Interoperability regulations.
+ 5+ years of experience in python.
+ 5+ years working with RESTful services.
+ 2+ years of experience working with Microservices architecture; specifically within Google Kubernetes Engine (GCP).
Preferred Qualifications
+ Google Cloud Platform Certified Engineer
+ Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)
+ AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
+ Must demonstrate strategic thinking as well as “roll up your sleeves” action
+ Strong collaboration skills
+ Experience with enterprise cross-functional initiatives, with a high degree of complexity
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills
+ Ability to work Hybrid Model (in office Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday) in Hartford, CT

Education
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$118,450.00 - $260,590.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
