Role Overview:

In this role you will preform Building and Grounds activities like Mowing, weed eating, leaf blowing, salting, walkway snow removal, spraying weed killer and fertilizer in the field, carpet vacuuming and cleaning, rest room supply restocking, gardening, glass window cleaning, and other tasks as needed.

Location:

This position is located in INDOT’s Research & Development building, West Lafayrtte.

Salary:

This position traditionally starts at an hourly rate of $18.00 an hour.

A Day in the Life:

The essential elements of the job duties:

+ Complying with INDOT Safety Policies and Procedures;

+ Moves and loads supplies and materials

+ Performs activities such as: mowing, painting, weed eating

+ Performs equipment maintenance such as: minor repairs, preventative maintenance, refueling

+ Performs miscellaneous labor tasks

What You'll Need for Success:

This person must have the following requirements to be considered for employment:

+ High School Graduate or Equivalent preferred.

+ Valid Indiana Driver's License.

+ Should have a working knowledge of one or more of the following: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, mowing.

+ Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Benefits of Employment with the State of Indiana:

This seasonal position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period.
