Job Overview:
Responsible for answering high volume calls, schedule appointments, follow up on authorizations for diagnostic procedures, chart preparation and obtain patient records.
Qualifications:
Required:
+ High School diploma
+ Writing skills to compose and edit logical, detailed, comprehensive and grammatically correct correspondence
Preferred:
+ Ability to manage physician schedule, must be able to multitask, cross-coverage, customer service skills, team player and medical office experience
+ Bilingual preferred
Scheduling Requirements:
+ Shift- 8:30am-4:30pm
+ Monday-Friday
+ Full Time/Day
Essential Functions:
+ Extensive experience and competency with varied computer hardware and software, including Microsoft word applications, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook,
+ Ability to handle matters of highly confidential and sensitive nature
+ Ability to recognize and identify problems, recognize implications and propose alternative solutions
+ Skill in prioritizing and organizing tasks to complete work in a timely manner
+ Skill in working independently and in following through on tasks with minimal direction
+ Superior typing skills to prepare correspondence with speed and accuracy
+ Knowledge of insurance companies procedures and policies to complete pre-authorization requirements
+ Knowledge of hospital procedures to obtain laboratory and imaging information
+ Skill in communicating with patients, families, physicians, nurses, staff and peers with diplomacy and tact
+ Knowledge of medical terminology, preferably oncology/hematology
