Team Carney, a dynamic performance acceleration and professional development contractor, seeks an experienced SME Instructor in the areas of Fire and Emergency Services to support a government contract. Our SME's are highly skilled and passionate about education.
This position is Contingent on contract award.
This position is PART TIME.
Duties:
+ Identifying current and forecasting future needs of the fire and emergency medical services.
+ Developing and overseeing the execution of an organizational strategic plan.
+ Contribute content expertise and knowledge for the development of officer training curriculum.
+ Oversight of mid and company level officer performance in relationship to executing the organization’s strategic plan.
+ Facilitating staff professional development and career planning, providing mentorship to subordinates, overseeing promotional processes, and facilitating organizational succession planning.
+ Using data to support organizational and community-based decision making, including experience with technical tools to obtain, organize, and present data.
+ Excellent written and oral communications skills.
+ Organizational leadership skills (building organizational equity, leadership of mid and company level officers, navigating political and social landscapes, interpersonal relationships).
+ Leadership of strategic community risk reduction initiatives.
+ Understanding of the National Fire Academy courses that support the development of mid and company level officers.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Current or obtainable Public Trust clearance.
+ A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
+ International Fire Service Accreditation Congress or Professional Qualifications Board Fire Service Instructor II certification is recommended, but not required.
+ Candidates must have successfully completed a recognized educational methodology course and must demonstrate successful instructional delivery to adult learners at local, regional, federal, and/or state fire training academies, colleges or universities, and proficiency in facilitation of small groups. Instructor II level certification (NFPA #1041) or equivalent satisfies this requirement.
+ Or, serve as a current instructor at the National Fire Academy (NFA).
Preferred Requirement:
+ Experience in course development such as participating in needs analysis processes and plan of instruction development is preferred, but not required.
