    Responsibilities

    The Neuro Acute & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (6NNABC) at St Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is a 48 bed Neurosurgery/Neurological/Epilepsy Monitoring medical/surgical/telemetry unit. The Neuro Acute & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit is part of the world renowned Barrow Neurological Institute.The staff take care of complex neurological and neurosurgical patients including patients with traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries, brain tumors, spine surgeries, stroke, migraine, patients with epilepsy who need further in-patient evaluation, and many other conditions. The members of this team are trained to be clinical experts in their field. We have a very extensive training program and many opportunities to participate in unit and housewide quality and performance improvement teams.     Responsibilities include but are not limited to mentoring staff in areas such as competency and documentation and coaching and evaluation of care given by staff. Equal time in the Charge Nurse role and direct bedside patient care.

     

    Bedside Nursing (50%)

     

    Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring the highest standards of nursing practice.

     

    Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.

     

    Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

     

    Act as a resource for bedside nurses, offering support and guidance in clinical matters.

     

    Charge Nurse Duties (50%)

     

    Assume a leadership role in overseeing and coordinating daily unit operations.

     

    Effectively communicate and collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

     

    Facilitate staff assignments, ensuring appropriate skill mix and workload distribution.

     

    Provide mentorship and guidance to bedside nurses, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

    Qualifications

    Minimum:

    + One (1) year RN experience within applicable clinical specialty

    + ADN, Diploma or foreign equivalent

    + Current AZ State RN license in good standing

    + Current American Heart Assocation BLS healthcare provider card

    Preferred:

    + Two years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or charge nurse experience

    + BSN

    + American Heart Association ACLS obtained within six months of hire into position

    Pay Range

    $42.85 - $63.77 /hour
