    Job Description

    Responsible for financial reporting, analysis and forecasting including the preparation of financial reports and operating trends as well as research. Coordinate and or participate in several projects relating to the financial statement preparation and analysis development as well as implement improvements. Responsible for preparing and documenting financial plans, policies and accounting practices. Responsible for developing, utilizing, interpreting, and/or reporting corporate financial data as it relates to historical reporting, forecasting and/or estimating the future trends in health care costs.

    What You'll Do

    + Develop, analyze, interpret, report, and/or present monthly, quarterly, and/or annual historical/ and or forecasted financial information.

    + Prepare financial plans, financial forecasts, profitability impacts & competitive analysis, and various reports to better track profitability.

    + Prepare financial and business related analysis and research.

    + Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets for units or departments based on actual performance, previous budget figures, estimated revenue, expense reports and other factors.

    + Review expenditures of requisitioning departments to ensure conformance to budget.

    + Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and/or analysis for various audiences such as Senior Leadership Team, Audit Committee, Executive Team, BCBS Association, etc. Ensure the reports are accurate. Make presentations to management and business lines.

    + Responsible for monthly variance analysis (at any business/segment or consolidated company level). Provide ongoing support to various business lines and answer any questions that may arise.

    + Act as a consultant for management on financial policy, procedure and application as well as historical, plan, forecasting and other reporting.

    + Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly with other Business Unit managers to provide quality seamless customer service

    + Support the administration and analysis for new products and corporate projects.

    + Review and check for accuracy various internal and external reports, such as membership, commissions, and the impact of large claims on the various lines of business and market segments for use in financial analysis.

    What You Bring

    + Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

    + 3+ years of experience in related field.

    + In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field.

    Bonus Points

    + Strong technical background infinancial planning & analysisor senior-levelaccounting.

    + Healthcare or insurance industryexperience is preferred

    + Collaborative and personable.

    + Ability to effectively communicates financial concepts to cross-functional teams and stakeholders with limited financial expertise

    + Demonstrates agility and composure in navigating change and ambiguity, particularly during the implementation of the Children and Family Specialty Plan (CFSP)

    + Mission-driven and aligned with Medicaid/health equity goals.

    Salary Range

     

    At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs.
