    Additive Manufacturing Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Manufacturing Engineer to lead the setup and operation of a state-of-the-art 3D printing lab at the Electrified Powertrain Center. This role involves the installation and commissioning of 20 brand new 3D printing machines, establishing lab protocols, and ensuring seamless integration with plant production processes. The engineer will also be responsible for ongoing lab operations and reporting on the efficiencies and benefits provided to the production line as the lab matures.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead the setup and commissioning of 20 new 3D printing machines.

    + Design and implement lab layout, workflows, and safety protocols.

    + Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for equipment installation.

    + Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for lab operations.

    + Oversee daily operations of the 3D printing lab, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.

    + Collaborate with production teams to identify opportunities for 3D printing applications.

    + Monitor and analyze lab output to assess impact on production efficiency.

    + Generate regular reports on lab performance, cost savings, and process improvements.

    + Train and support lab technicians and other personnel in 3D printing technologies.

    + Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with 3D printing technologies and equipment.

    + Proven leadership skills.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

    + Experience within an automotive manufacturing facility.

    + Strong project management and organizational skills.

    + Ability to analyze data and report on operational efficiencies.

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with CAD software and digital manufacturing tools is a plus.

    + Proven experience in setting up and managing manufacturing or prototyping labs.

    Work Environment

    The role is based in a modern 3D printing lab within the Electrified Powertrain Center. The work involves collaboration with various teams and vendors, with an emphasis on safety and quality standards. The environment promotes innovation and continuous improvement in production efficiency through advanced 3D printing technologies.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $38.87 - $42.88/hr.
