Job Description
The Environmental Impact Teammate is responsible for maintaining clean and orderly conditions in all operational areas, including buildings, walkways, fence lines, and more. This role requires compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, and involves tasks such as sweeping, weeding, painting, debris disposal, and power washing. The position operates under flexible parameters with the primary goal of achieving excellence in safety, effectiveness, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
+ Sweep walkways, power wash walls and glass, and remove rubbish and debris from the facility.
+ Empty trash bins and paint buildings, concrete barriers, and handrails.
+ Adhere to Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
+ Ensure a safe environment for employees, customers, and visitors.
+ Keep general areas of the facility clear of debris and trash.
+ Power wash and paint safety barricades, handrails, and buildings as directed.
+ Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment.
+ Support the focus on maintaining a world-class and customer-friendly facility.
+ Perform related duties and projects as directed by the supervisor.
+ Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building systems.
+ Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
+ Learn and safely operate forklift and personal lift.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
+ Capacity to stand on feet all day.
+ Independently work with good attendance.
+ Comfort working in dirty environments, including confined spaces and heights.
+ Strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with driving a manual transmission.
+ Willingness to learn and safely operate forklift and personal lift.

Work Environment
The role is scheduled Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm, and involves exposure to all weather conditions, noise, fumes, and dirt due to the equipment and machinery present in the scrap yard. Safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, face shields, and additional personal protective equipment are required to minimize risks. Handling multiple safety and maintenance issues increases pressure, especially during peak times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tacoma, Washington.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.79 - $23.79/hr.
