Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Project Manager to develop, recommend, and oversee maintenance and construction projects for County-owned Library buildings and infrastructure. Working closely with other County departments, this role involves planning, scheduling, budgeting, and making sure that projects meet safety codes, quality standards, and County guidelines.
Driving is required as part of the job. The Project Manager must travel between sites to coordinate with contractors, inspect work, and ensure projects stay on track. Work includes both small and large projects—such as preventive maintenance, capital improvements, emergency repairs, and renovations.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Plan and manage library project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
+ Working with County Facilities and Construction Management, coordinate contractors and ensure they follow County rules and contract terms.
+ Schedule and track preventive and corrective maintenance across multiple sites.
+ Represent the Library at site visits, pre-bid walkthroughs, and inspections.
+ Prepare project updates, cost estimates, and reports for leadership.
+ Review and approve project documents like plans, change orders, and payment requests.
+ Work with internal library staff to keep operations running smoothly during construction.
+ Keep detailed project records and help with vendor selection and contract paperwork.
Education, Experience, Licensing
+ A combination of education and experience equal to a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, planning, construction, or a related field.
+ Two (2) years of experience in project management, construction, engineering, public works, or related areas.
+ Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
