    Job Title: Quality Inspector

    Job Description

    As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for performing First Article Inspections (FAI) and using Inspection Expert Software. You must be adept at reading and interpreting blueprints for small to midsized parts within a machine shop environment. The role will primarily be desk-based, focusing on detailed reporting with a target of completing 2-3 FAI reports daily.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and document findings.

    + Utilize Inspection Expert Software for quality assurance processes.

    + Read and interpret blueprints for small to midsized machined parts.

    + Perform bench inspections using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.

    + Ensure compliance with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards.

    + Prepare detailed quality inspection reports.

    Essential Skills

    + 2-3+ years of quality inspection experience in the aviation industry.

    + 2-3+ years of experience in FAI reporting.

    + Proficiency with Inspection Expert Software.

    + Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints.

    + 2+ years of experience in bench level inspections, preferably in a machine shop environment.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in a small machine shop setting is advantageous.

    + Familiarity with aviation industry standards is preferred.

    Work Environment

     

    This role is based in a machine shop with approximately 50 employees, specifically within the small quality department. The dress code is casual, with jeans and a t-shirt being appropriate attire. The position operates on the first shift, Monday to Friday, from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with minimal overtime required and occasional Saturday work.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
