Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to efficiently manage and organize inventory. This role involves pulling customer orders based on invoices and tickets, assisting the burn table operator, and using large cranes to move steel orders. The position requires physical activity, such as bending, walking, and lifting, as you handle materials throughout the day.
Responsibilities
+ Pull customer orders from racks using invoices and tickets.
+ Assist the burn table operator with product orders.
+ Utilize large cranes to move steel orders.
+ Organize and manage raw materials in monkey racks.
+ Load and unload trucks, and assist customers picking up orders.
+ Prioritize tasks and ensure accurate order pulling for customer satisfaction.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in warehouse material handling and picking.
+ Proficiency in using overhead cranes and forklifts.
+ Ability to operate measuring tools like tape measure, micrometer, and caliper.
+ Valid driver's license.
+ Capability to lift 50 lbs and perform labor-intensive tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Previous experience with micrometer and caliper.
+ Background in carpentry, construction, or mechanical work.
+ Experience in labor-intensive work environments.
+ Longevity in previous positions (2+ years).

Work Environment
Work in a large warehouse with stacks of steel and monkey racks. The environment is loud and may be dirty due to the nature of the product. Expect hot summers and cold winters, with a first shift from 7am to 4pm. The team is small, fluctuating between 15-20 members, and focuses on independent work within specialized sections. Dress code includes jeans, steel-toed boots, and work-appropriate attire.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, Iowa
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
