Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will perform preventative maintenance and inspections on cement and ready-mix trucks, as well as other heavy equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and lifts. You will be responsible for engine repairs and utilizing diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues within emissions systems. Your work will ensure vehicles comply with environmental regulations and pass emissions tests.

Responsibilities

+ Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment.

+ Conduct repairs, replacements, and rebuild engine components.

+ Troubleshoot electrical issues in engines and emissions control systems.

+ Utilize software and specialized diagnostic tools to identify and resolve emissions issues.

+ Diagnose and repair intricate emissions control systems, including clogged DPFs, EGR valve failures, sensor errors, and fuel injection problems.

+ Ensure vehicles comply with environmental regulations and pass emissions tests.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in engine repair and electrical diagnostics.

+ Experience in emissions maintenance, diagnosis, and repair.

+ Ability to perform diagnostic testing and utilize specialized tools effectively.

+ 3+ years of experience with diesel engines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Preferred experience in heavy equipment repair.

+ DOT documentation skills.

+ Hydraulic systems knowledge.

+ Experience working with Cummings Trucks is heavily preferred.

+ Experience with cement trucks is ideal.

Work Environment

You will work in an outdoor shop that is covered. Conditions vary with the weather, being hot when hot and cold when cold. The role may require travel to other sites to address truck breakdowns. The shift is from 11 am to 8 pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
