Job Title: Slitter Operator - 2nd Shift - $18/hr
Job Description
We are seeking dedicated individuals for a packaging role. While training will be provided, having basic machine operation knowledge will set you up for success. You will work in a team of 3 to 4 members and assist additional packers when needed. Responsibilities include loading and unloading machinery, quality checking steel during and after the process, and using measurement tools such as mics, cals, and gauges. You will also handle shipping and receiving materials within the facility and ensure safe working practices.
Responsibilities
+ Participate in packaging operations and assist team members.
+ Load and unload machinery efficiently.
+ Perform quality checks on steel during and after processing.
+ Utilize measurement tools including mics, cals, and gauges.
+ Handle shipping and receiving of materials.
+ Move materials around the facility safely.
+ Maintain a safe working environment.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in manufacturing (presses, steel, large machinery, etc.).
+ Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
+ Proficiency in reading a tape measure to 1/16".
+ Experience working in teams of 3-4 people.
+ Skill in using hand and power tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with overhead cranes.
+ Slitter operator experience.
+ Forklift operation skills.
+ Experience in steel-related environments.

Work Environment
Our facility is a 40-50 person steel operation, known for its cleanliness and modern machinery. We operate on a three-shift schedule: 6-2, 2-10, and 10-6, with normal hours being 40 hours a week. Overtime is voluntary, except when required to cover vacations. The 2nd shift has an opening for one packaging laborer. Employees are required to wear PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, arm sleeves, hearing protection in certain areas, and high visibility vests. Steel toe shoes are mandatory, and uniforms are provided by the company.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50/hr.
