Located on a beautiful 10-acre campus in the heart of Scottsdale, **Devereux Arizona’s 24-hour Residential Treatment Center** (RTC) has the capacity to serve 52 children. The RTC is a safe, supportive environment that provides various services to youth, from the ages of 7 to 17, who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, or substance abuse challenges. The Campus features dormitories, a therapeutic K-12 day school, food services, medical/nursing, and therapy services.

The **Substance Abuse Clinician** provides comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services to individuals within a structured, therapeutic residential setting. This role plays a critical part in multidisciplinary care coordination, contributing to trauma-informed and person-centered programming designed to address co-occurring behavioral health and substance use needs. The Substance Abuse Clinician actively collaborates with youth, families, internal treatment teams, and external partners to promote recovery, enhance coping strategies, and support reintegration into the community or step-down services. Key responsibilities include clinical documentation, psychoeducation, progress monitoring, relapse prevention planning, discharge coordination, and linkage to aftercare services in alignment with The Joint Commission standards and applicable AHCCCS Covered Behavioral Health Services Guide provisions. You demonstrate cultural humility, clinical expertise in adolescent substance use, and a strong commitment to ethical, trauma-informed care.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $66,000 (Associate Level Licensure); $68,000 - $74,800 (Independent Level Licensure)

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (with other hours as needed)

Qualifications

+ Master’s Degree in Counseling, Addictions Counseling, or Substance Abuse Counseling

+ Required: Current valid license to practice in Arizona with no restrictions. Associate or Independent Level: Licensed Associate Addiction Counselor (LAAC) or Licensed Independent Addiction Counselor (LIAC)

+ Proficient computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft office programs

+ Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)

OTHER:

+ Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards)

+ Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check

+ Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results

+ Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)
