ROLE SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of Behavioral Health Services is responsible for training and supervising all levels of Behavior Intervention Specialists (BIS). The Assistant Director will utilize evidence based positive behavioral supports to enrich the lives of people by creating healthy and safe environments in a residential setting. Through teaching/modeling, they will empower and train BIS employees in creating meaningful opportunities to enhance people’s dignity, assist with decision making skills, teach prosocial replacement skills, and model/reinforce coping skills to reduce interfering behaviors.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Performs psychological evaluations and assessments including functional behavior assessments.
+ Provides ongoing clinical and professional supervision to all levels of Behavior Intervention Specialists including hiring, development, and direct oversight.
+ Provides direct oversight of managing BIS caseloads – making modifications and providing oversight to caseloads when necessary.
+ Reviews and ensures that all Behavior Support Plans meet regulatory requirements, provide clear direction when addressing target behaviors, and are modified as needed based upon changes and data driven updates.
+ Teach agency wide trainings in the areas of Positive Behavior Support, Applied Behavior Analysis, and other trainings as necessary.
+ Participates in screenings for new admissions and develops pre-admission plans as needed.
+ Maintains SCIP-R, First Aid, and CPR certification as well as other required agency trainings.
+ Maintains a caseload of 2 residences and provide coverage for vacant positions as needed
+ Assists Director and VP with maintaining a regulatory compliance utilizing department tracking system
JOB TYPE: Full-time
SHIFT: Flex (35 Hours)
SALARY: $83,711-89,211 per year

Requirements
+ Master’s Degree in a clinical or treatment field in Psychology, Social Work, School Psychology, or Applied Psychology as it relates to human development and clinical interventions OR
+ National Board certification in behavior analysis (BCBA) and a master’s degree in behavior analysis or a field closely related to clinical or community psychology that is approved by OPWDD OR
+ NYS license in Mental Health Counseling.
+ 5 years of experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of behavior support plans.
+ Supervisory experience preferred
+ Must be SCIP trained or complete within 3 months
+ Valid NYS Driver’s license and transportation to travel throughout Suffolk County.
