The CCU Ultrasound engineering team is looking for an Acoustic Laboratory Technician to assist with the operation and maintenance of a semi-automated acoustic data collection laboratory. Will be working on-site at the Research Park acoustic power lab.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions
+ Responsible for the operation and maintenance of an engineering acoustic power laboratory. The lab is used to collect data from an ultrasound scanner which ensures compliance to ultrasound regulatory standards for diagnostic ultrasound.
+ Equipment development and maintenance for items such as water tanks, stepper motors, thermal measurement systems, acoustic force balances, hydrophones, oscilloscopes, ultrasound probes and servers.
+ Ability to build, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical/electrical tools
+ Documentation and verification of the laboratory tools and software as part of the GE quality management system.
+ Member of the global GI acoustic power team. Working to harmonize the acoustic power process and tools used throughout CCU ultrasound.
Required Qualifications
+ Associates Degree, or High School diploma/GED with 2 years technical experience
+ Proficiency to logically troubleshoot at subsystem and occasionally system level, using identifiable problem-solving techniques.
+ Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and assist with corrections to the existing design or process.
+ Proficiency to understand and interpret basic written technical information.
+ Demonstrated proficiency to utilize computerized work systems
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills
+ Demonstrated ability to work well with general direction and information
+ Demonstrate an ongoing effort to maintain knowledge of current technology
+ Work collaboratively as part of a 4-to-9-member global team.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Ordering experience
+ Oscilloscope experience
+ Inventory experience
+ Ability to create small scale lab tools using software (i.e. python).
+ Demonstrated ability to create and maintain unique testing equipment.
+ Experience with software-based instrumentation control projects.
+ Experience working on team projects.
+ Willingness and eagerness to learn as part of job.
+ Capability and interest to learn how the measurements and measurement process tie back to the acoustic regulatory standards from organizations such as the FDA, NMPA, IEC, NEMA, and AIUM
