Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and edit already existing lessons that reflect accommodations and differentiation for student learning

+ Train staff in school's special education systems and procedures, from identifying to monitoring, referring, and providing services to students

+ Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction to develop and manage a comprehensive Responsive to Intervention (RTI) program

+ Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and teachers to develop intervention plans for students at academic risk

+ Manage and oversee 504 plans, MLL/ELL, SWD, and Gifted programming

+ Ensure all students are given appropriate services on a daily, weekly, quarterly, and yearly basis

+ Coordinate scheduling all special student support staff, including any contracted services

+ Ensure all students in need of special education testing are given appropriate plans

+ Attend all special education meetings and invite appropriate staff

+ Conduct Child Find for newly enrolled students

+ Work with teachers to develop IEPs and SIR packets

+ Liaise with sending districts for students with IEPs

+ Review Home Language Questionnaires to determine eligibility for ELL testing

+ Oversee English Language Learner testing including the NYSESLAT and NYSITELL

+ Ensure that school complies with all state and federal special education laws and English Language Learner laws

+ Ensure all qualified students are identified and are given appropriate services

+ Provide professional development to teachers regarding interventions, SIR packets, accommodations, and other topics relevant to student supports
