    Job Description

    The chief objective of the Live Streaming Events Support Associate position at Old Dominion University is to ensure the seamless execution of live streaming events, providing a high-quality and engaging experience for both on-campus and remote participants. The associate will leverage their technical expertise to set up, troubleshoot, and maintain audio, video, and streaming equipment, expanding audience reach, fostering inclusivity, and supporting the university’s mission of providing quality education through digital means.

    Working knowledge of audio/video equipment setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and live streaming platforms. Some knowledge of networking, internet protocols, and/or connectivity troubleshooting in ensuring a seamless streaming experience. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think critically under pressure. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Ability to adapt to changing business needs.

    Level and type of experience

    Some experience supporting live streaming events, audio/video production, or technical support roles. Some experience operating live streaming platforms, managing live events, and troubleshooting technical issues. Some experience with audio/video equipment setup and configuration.

    Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)

    Considerable experience in operating live streaming platforms, managing live events, and troubleshooting technical issues. Education, training, coursework or certifications in audio/video production, live streaming technologies, or related fields. Working knowledge of audio/video equipment setup, configuration, and software tools used for video editing, encoding, and streaming. Considerable skills in operating audio/video equipment, configuring streaming setups, and using video editing software. Some experience coordinating with production teams and stakeholders to ensure successful live streaming events.

    Conditions of Employment

    Position located on Norfolk Main Campus. Possibility of working some nights and/or weekends.

     

    Hourly (wage) employees are restricted to working 29 hours per week on average or 1500 hours in total in the May 1 – April 30 period. This position does not have health insurance, retirement or leave.

     

    This is an open until filled recruitment. This recruitment may close after the five-day required posting period when a suitable pool of applicants has been generated.
