MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Junior Technical Writer to join our team in Stafford, VA.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Assists in the creation and maintenance of foundational technical documentation, such as user manuals and release notes, under the direct guidance of senior staff.
+ Focuses on translating complex technical information into clear, user-friendly content, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
+ Contributes to the organization of information within content management systems and adheres to established style guidelines.
+ Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure documentation aligns with project goals.
+ Learns and applies industry best practices, receives mentorship to develop skills and understanding of technical writing principles, and adheres to strict deadlines and organizational standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ BA/BS in field necessary to assume Technical Writer duties or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree
+ Proficiency in using documentation tools and software, such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems.
+ Experience effectively communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Desired Qualifications:
+ One year of experience in technical writing, preferably in the IT industry.
+ Experience supporting DoD programs. Familiarity with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or other IT Service Management Frameworks. Knowledge of IT security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
+ Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.
Clearance Requirements:
+ Must have an active Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements:
+ Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
+ Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
+ The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
