    Job Description:

    The Compliance Specialist ensures compliance with all government mandated regulations and best practices for Compliance through education, performing investigations as needed, and supporting Elara departments and branch locations through effective communication and site visits. The Compliance Specialist assists the Director of Compliance in establishing and maintaining a compliance program that prevents illegal, unethical or improper conduct. The Compliance Specialist assists the Director of Compliance to facilitate overall agency compliance and assists in the identification of risk and development and presentation of educational tools.

    What is Required?

     

    + Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of experience; clinical background preferred

    + 2 years of experience in healthcare, with 1 year of experience in regulatory, privacy, or compliance department preferred

    + Experience in Skilled Home Health, Hospice, Behavioral Health, or Personal Care Services is preferred

    + Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) or willing to obtain within 12 months

    + Current state license as an LPN/LVN or RN is preferred

    + Understanding of Federal and State healthcare laws and regulations pertaining to fraud, waste and abuse prevention and privacy of protected health information

    + Interpersonal, communication, organizational and project management skills

    + Ability to work effectively across department or divisions within an organization

    + Exhibits working knowledge ofregulations and reimbursement in home health care as well as provenleadershipabilities

    + Demonstrates ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive financial, clinical, and operational information

    + Demonstrates ongoing understanding of current laws, to include privacy, compliance, federal and state regulations, Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party regulations as changes occur, serves as a resource for compliance and policy questions, and promotes compliance to all standards.
