Job Description
A large worldwide manufacturing company is looking for multiple Field Controls Engineers for permanent placement in Arvada, CO. The Field Controls Engineers will work independently, as part of a team of 7 to play a crucial role in the supervision of installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automation control systems that are attached to industrial pumps and compressors for client companies in multiple growing industries. Main responsibilities include travelling to customer sites 50% of the time, communicating with customer to ensure the control systems are set up properly for operation of proprietary pump equipment. You will spend most of your time with root cause analysis, confirm selection of hardware and analyze failure modules, perform warranty evaluations, and manage cases in the CRM (Microsoft). You may also mentor junior engineers. This is not a traditional in office role - the hours will vary from week to week. Ex. you work in office 50% and when travelling, you may work M-F or Tu-Sat 10-12 hour shifts at different customer plant locations within the US, with a variety of days, nights, and weekends. Training will be implemented on the job, with other engineers for 6 months - 1 year (about 2 hours of OT/ week), before being assigned individual cases year 2 (up to 20 hours OT/week + comp days). Rental car and mileage is paid for.
The position has a good mix of in and out of office, and offers a base salary + Overtime of 2-20 hours a week, hazard pay and comp days model. There is much room for advancement (prior Field Engineers have grown into roles such as Director of Engineering, Engineering Manager, Global Service Manager, Quality Control Manager, General Manager, and Compressor Expert). The company is diversified into multiple industries and recession-proof. Skills and Requirements
Working knowledge of industrial centrifugal pumps and compressors
4-10+ years' Experience troubleshooting/programming PLCs
Senior: No Degree + 10 years, Associates + 8 years, Bachelors + 6 years, Masters + 4 years
Intermediate: No Degree + 8 years, Associates + 6 years, Bachelors + 4 years, Masters + 2 years
Experience with Rockwell (preferred)/Allen Bradley, or Siemens control systems
Ability to travel 50% domestic/international, and work a variable schedule
Experience reading mechanical prints, API seal plans, Cause and effect diagrams
Strong communication and professionalism, customer service skills Passport null
