    Description

    We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our clients team on a long-term contract basis in Kansas City, Missouri. This position is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a keen eye for accuracy, who thrives in a fast-paced financial environment. The role involves ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and other accounts payable tasks.

    Responsibilities:

    • Process and verify invoices for accuracy, ensuring proper account coding and compliance with company policies.

    • Prepare and execute payments, including Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check runs.

    • Maintain detailed records of all accounts payable activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

    • Collaborate with internal teams to reconcile payable invoices and resolve discrepancies.

    • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to manage financial data efficiently.

    • Perform regular audits of accounts payable processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.

    • Assist in month-end closing activities by providing necessary accounts payable documentation.

    • Monitor vendor accounts to ensure payments are up-to-date and address any outstanding balances.

    • Support the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

     

    Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable or a related financial role.

     

    • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas.

    • Strong understanding of account coding and invoice processing.

    • Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check runs.

    • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

    • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

    • Knowledge of financial compliance and auditing practices.
