Robert Half is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to support a non-profit organization based in Seattle, WA. This role involves backfilling a recently promoted BI team member and supporting a critical migration from on-prem SQL Server to Microsoft Fabric and Azure-based data lake architecture. Job Details:
Schedule: Monday–Friday, flexible hours with required core availability from 10AM–2PM PST
Duration: 3-month contract (with strong potential for extension or FTE conversion)
Job Responsibilities:
+ Support the migration of enterprise reporting from on-prem SQL Server to Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Lake environments
+ Develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models using DAX, Power Query M, and Power Automate
+ Reverse-engineer legacy ETL/reporting pipelines and modernize them for cloud-based delivery
+ Assist with the creation and maintenance of Fabric Dataflows, Pipelines, and semantic models
+ Collaborate with a lean BI team to deliver timely insights, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data governance and performance
+ Provide technical guidance and support for internal reporting workflows and downstream consumers
+ Analyze structured schema modules and build scalable, reusable reporting solutions aligned to business needs
Requirements
+ 5+ years of experience in BI/reporting roles with a strong backend focus
+ Expertise in Power BI, including:
+ Power Query M
+ DAX
+ Power Automate
+ Proficient in SQL and experienced in ETL workflows (SSIS, ADF, Dataflows Gen2, etc.)
+ Familiarity or working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (including Warehouse, Lakehouse, OneLake concepts)
+ Experience with data warehouse and data lake environments
Nice-to-Have:
+ Azure Data Lake, Synapse, and Snowflake experience
+ Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and ability to work independently
+ Adaptable, self-driven, and excited to work in a mission-driven, resource-lean environment
