    Description

    Robert Half is seeking a dedicated Accounts Receivable Clerk for our client in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing commercial real estate company while enhancing your attention to detail. As a short-term contract to full time position, you will have the chance to transition into a long-term role based on performance and company needs.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform essential accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll liaison activities, and general accounting duties at field sites.

    • Reconcile bank accounts and ensure accurate posting and balancing of financial data in various ledgers.

    • Process timesheet data efficiently and verify documents and financial codes for accuracy.

    • Handle payment processing, compile monthly closing reports, and assist in preparing annual financial statements.

    • Prepare and analyze aging reports, resolve customer account issues, and manage billing and collection calls.

    • Maintain the cash receipts journal and reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger.

    • Communicate effectively with shippers, customers, and internal departments such as sales and marketing to provide necessary information.

    • Support and uphold the organization’s mission, values, and culture through your daily tasks and interactions.

    Requirements

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or accounts payable roles.

    • Familiarity with bookkeeping practices is preferred.

    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in handling accounting policies and procedures.

    • Ability to multitask and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced work environment.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

    • Experience with cash collections, billing functions, and commercial accounts receivable processes.
