    Set-up and perform test functions per qualification test procedures. The testing will involve using mechanical and computer-controlled test equipment to validate the performance of the product. This will require the accurate recording of test data and verification of pass/reject criteria. The technician will perform detailed and sometimes complicated troubleshooting of mechanical or electro-mechanical systems to determine root causes of performance issues.

    Key Accountabilities:

    + Performs moderate to semi‐complex assembly/test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand tools, mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment.

    + Sets up moderate to semi‐complex test equipment on a variety of products to measure and record product conformance to test specifications. Test set up requires appropriate plumbing for hydraulic, pneumatic, gas, and thermal tests from required product test specifications.

    + Capture photo/video images and other necessary evidence of test readings/setup and organize appropriately.

    + Conducts tests using common and/or computerized data acquisition equipment and interprets/records test results on data forms. Uses recorders, transducers, and other related equipment.

    + Verifies accuracy of test equipment and setup prior to testing and make adjustments as necessary to obtain specified test results.

    + Troubleshoots and initiates or reworks malfunctions disclosed by test data.

    + Performs diagnostic teardown and evaluation of components.

    + Captures test data and may prepare graphs and charts.

    + Captures photo/video images of test readings/set-up and organizes them proper identification.

    + Ensures equipment is calibrated in accordance with calibration schedule.

    + Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to occasionally work a variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary to meet testing schedules. Contribute to HPT and participate in team-meetings.

    + Wear proper PPE and follow all set safety guidelines

    + All other duties as assigned by Supervisor or lead designee

    Education, Credentials and Previous Experience:

    + High School Diploma or equivalent required.

    + Vocational training

    + A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.

    + Proficiency in PLC’s a plus.

    Technical Depth and Breadth:

    + Skilled in the use of test equipment, hand tools, power tools.

    + Basic knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office and other business applications.

    + Ability to read, comprehend, and understand Regulations, instructions or standard work process

    + Working knowledge of basic simple mechanical mechanisms.

    + Knowledge of machine set up, product change overs, gages, measurement instruments, product sequence, and documentation.

    + Ability to read and understand engineering methods and procedures to operate test equipment.

    Problem Solving and Analytical Skills:

    + Detail oriented.

    + Perform tasks with little supervision

    + Able to effectively work on and manage multiple tasks daily, communicate professionally with co-workers, show flexibility to learn multiple jobs within the department, and show aptitude to perform essential job functions listed above.

    + Actively participate in improvement activities, Lean projects

    + Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods of time.

    + Frequently required to work around and/or visit manufacturing operations exposed to noise, fumes, heavy machinery, and other shop-related hazards.

    + Lifting, pulling or pushing material ≤ 26 lbs.

    + Good hand/eye coordination

    + Ability to manage multiple tasks at once.

    + Use of Personal Protective Equipment as required, may include safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, and/or any other equipment deemed necessary.
