    Job Overview:

    The Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans and implements Occupational Therapy treatment in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    + Must meet basic professional entry-level educational requirements from an accredited occupational therapy program

    + Valid NJ OT License

    + BLS through the American Heart Association

    + Successful completion of all required orientation programs

    Scheduling Requirements:

    + Per Diem

    + Day Shift

    Essential Functions:

    + Provides skilled interventions, maximizing the patient’s outcomes by successfully anticipating patient’s response to care provided

    + Performs effective, efficient, fluid, and coordinated movement in providing technically competent interventions for patients

    + Performs interventions consistent with the plan of care

    + Recognizes physiological and psychological changes in patients and adjusts treatment accordingly

    + Uses intervention time efficiently and effectively

    + Engages client / family in problem-solving activities

    + Modifies task approach, occupations, and the environment to maximize client performance

    + Determines time for discharge and educates patient on discharge responsibilities

    + Determines need for referral to other disciplines based upon progress, lack of progress with rehab care

    + Determines educational needs and educates patients / residents / families
