Responsibilities
The Principal Architect plays a strategic and cross-functional leadership role in shaping the future of Panasonic’s digital and data platform ecosystem. This individual will drive enterprise architecture vision and governance across multiple business-critical domains, including advertising, media management, over-the-air software systems, digital marketplaces, and e-commerce capabilities.
As a senior technology thought leader, the Principal Architect is expected to guide major platform modernization efforts, steer technology selection, influence executive decisions, and ensure alignment with product roadmaps and global airline requirements.
What you will be doing:
Strategic Architecture Leadership
+ Define and evolve the long-term architecture blueprint for Panasonic’s digital applications and platforms, aligning to business growth strategies and digital monetization models.
+ Lead architectural design for next-gen systems enabling:
+ Advanced ad-tech and personalization frameworks.
+ End-to-end content lifecycle management and distribution.
+ Secure, scalable OTA software delivery systems.
+ In-flight digital marketplaces and transaction platforms.
+ Platform-as-a-Service models to onboard and support partner-developed applications.
Enterprise Collaboration & Governance
+ Serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior leadership, product owners, and airline stakeholders.
+ Establish architectural governance models, standards, and best practices across product lines and engineering organizations.
+ Oversee technical reviews for critical programs, assess architectural risks, and drive remediation strategies.
Innovation & Technology Strategy
+ Evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML in personalization, edge computing, platform orchestration) and assess strategic fit.
+ Develop forward-looking technology roadmaps in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
+ Promote platform scalability, security, reusability, and extensibility across global deployment environments.
The salary range of $166,000 - $278,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
+ 15+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering and architecture, with at least 5 years in a principal or lead architect role.
+ Proven expertise designing scalable, distributed systems in one or more of the following: digital advertising, media management, software delivery, commerce platforms.
+ Deep experience in architecture patterns including microservices, event-driven systems, cloud-native apps, and edge/cloud integration.
+ Strong understanding of OTA systems, platform security models, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
+ Excellent communication, stakeholder influence, and executive-level presentation skills.
Preferred Experience
+ Industry experience in aviation, connected devices, telecom, or automotive platforms.
+ Familiarity with in-flight systems, airline operations, and certification/regulatory environments.
+ Experience working across global teams and managing partnerships with platform vendors or digital service providers.

+ Paid time off: Exempt Salaried employees receive unlimited PTO. This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year + 7 sick days + 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year plus a paid company-wide shut down in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year.
