    Job Summary

    Develops and leads all purchasing strategy with a focus on business growth in a cost-controlled environment. Lead critical decision-making in areas of min-max strategy, on-hand inventory targets, adjustments

     

    for changing lead times, and analyzing/managing order point algorithms. Balance the goal of WOWing the customers with on-hand inventory with need to manage inventory investment.

    Primary Duties

    + Direct Management of the buyer team responsible for all ordering, using current sales data, historical data,

    + Seasonality trends and Sales Forecast to determine appropriate quantities and timing.

    + Communicate with internal departments and leadership on supplier performance and inventory availability.

    + Work together with Sales and Marketing for upcoming sales campaigns and promotions.

    + Direct buyers in managing assigned categories.

    + Work with New Product Development to understand products.

    + Work with suppliers on consistent and timely order fulfillment.

    + Analyze, anticipate, and react to product seasonality trends.

    + Training and on-boarding for all buyers

    + Supplier & Product Management

    + Negotiate terms, pricing, lead time, Minimum Order quantities (MOQ) as needed

    + Update supplier information, pricing, MOQ, lead time as needed.

    + Communicate directly with suppliers on production plans and ways to improve efficiency.

    + Accurate and timely reporting on inventory position, investment, and actions implemented.

     

    Education / Experience

     

    + Skills and abilities consistent with a college degree.

    + 5-7 years advanced level purchasing and ERP experience + bachelor degree or 10+ years of advanced level purchasing and ERP experience.

    + Proven track record of leading a team of buyers for a minimum of 5 years.

    + Proven track record of employee development and advancing a team
