    Job Summary:

    The mission of SUNY Upstate Medical University is to improve the health of the communities we serve through education, biomedical research, and health care. Beyond our downtown campus, we provide care through our clinics and offices across the greater Syracuse area.

     

    In support of our ongoing growth, we are seeking highly skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Providers to join our Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) APP team.

    Key responsibilities:

    + APP will support optimal throughput and care coordination of cardiology procedures within Upstate’s HVC at the Downtown campus. The APP will provide education and interface with the healthcare team, patients, and families prior to discharge. The APP will also have ability to cross cover Cath lab, stress, echo, and electrophysiology based on operational needs of the HVC.

    + Assess and evaluate patients, order and interpret laboratory tests & diagnostic studies, and arrange referrals, consultations, and therapeutic services.

    + Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, referring physicians, and all members of the health care team.

     

    As an APP, you will be an integral member of the Upstate healthcare team, demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and a commitment to Upstate’s mission, vision, and values, while adhering to all institutional policies and procedures.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (or graduated from an accredited PA program) or will be eligible by time of appointment?

    + NYS Licensed/Registered NP or PA.

    + Current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice.

    + NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required. Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.

    + CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.

    + Must successfully pass pre-employment and credentialing clearances.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience in Cardiology
