    SMX is seeking an **Organization Defense Travel Administrator** (ODTA) for Project Management Office (PMO) Search, Track, Radiate, Eliminate (STARE). This position will provide onsite support to our client in Huntsville, AL.

     

    The Organization Defense Travel Administrator will be responsible for the administration of the Defense Travel System (DTS) at the Project Office level and, as such, assist the Lead Defense Travel Administrator (LDTA) with overall DTS administration for the PMO. In this role, you will manage and validate completed training certificates from TraX, and other systems, based on Instructor Led Training in TJASS, per the PEO MS Travel Office (S-23-01): Permissions, Roles, System Access, Separation of Duties and Training for Defense Travel System (DTS) and Travel Joint Administrative Service System (TJASS) Roles and Training.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    + Administer the DTS at the PMO level, acting on the LDTA’s behalf

    + Update and report travel and travel card suspense dates to the LDTA

    + Ensure appointments for Certifying and Approving officials are processed and approved

    + Manage internal controls for USG travel and travel cards

    + Ensure employees are aware of official USG travel business rules, SOPs, and policies

    + Organize and arrange DTS group and organization access, permissions, and Separation of Duties

    + Manage travel documents and provide reports to USG leadership

    + Provide expert advice to PMO travelers, support staff, and accountable officials

    + Conduct internal audits and support external ones

    + Ensure DTS users and Accountable Officials satisfy training requirements

    + Maintain training plans and records in TJASS

    + Review employee input in ATAAPS

    + Report employee OCONUS travel, weekly

    + Received and deliver official PMO mail

    + Maintain the PMO’s Travel and Management Support SharePoint site

    + Other emerging duties as assigned

    Required Skills & Experience

    + Clearance Required: Secret

    + Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of related experience; with the last 2 years utilizing Defense Travel System (DTS)

    + Allowable substitutions: Associate's degree and 8+ years, or a high school diploma and 12+ years of experience

    + Expertise with DTS

    + Strong proficiency with MS Office applications

    + Knowledge of Joint Travel Regulation

    + Strong analytical, organization, and communication skills

    + High ethical standards and demonstrated professionalism

    + Ability to work productively both individually and as a team member

    + Must be detail and customer-service oriented

    Desired Skills & Experience

    + Experience working in a DoD Project Office

    The proposed salary for this position is:

    $64,800—$108,000 USD
