    Job Title: General Production Worker

    Job Description

    We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as General Production Workers, where you will play a vital role in machine operation, material handling, quality control, and electrical installation.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform basic adjustments of equipment and keep machine clean and clear of clutter.

    + Produce materials through use of machines.

    + Troubleshoot operator and basic machine problems.

    + Measure and visually inspect sample products for surface and dimensional defects using calipers, gages, and templates.

    + Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines within tolerances as necessary.

    + Read job orders to determine product specifications to plan operational sequences.

    + Position, load, and secure stock material required for production, manually or by using power-assisted equipment.

    + Perform essential receiving functions including unloading trucks, identification of material, quality and quantity inspection, and stocking to warehouse shelves.

    + Verify receipt quantity against packing list and purchase order, immediately report discrepancies to freight carrier, Receiving Clerk, and Purchasing Agent.

    + Inspect incoming freight, annotate visible and/or possible internal damage on shipment documents, and work with QC team.

    + Safely put materials away in assigned locations.

    + Process direct and indirect material requisitions from each worksite, shipping components in a timely manner, striving for a high level of accuracy.

    + Perform essential shipping functions for Parts Department orders including preparing accurate freight quotes, pulling inventory, packaging freight orders, preparing shipping documents, shipping material, and maintaining/publishing outbound shipment logs.

    + Conduct daily inspections and audits to assure that all products manufactured meet high quality standards and customer specifications.

    + Complete necessary paperwork for non-conforming material and processes.

    + Verify that processes and procedures are followed during the manufacturing process.

    + Ensure that non-conforming processes and material are identified, corrected, and removed from the manufacturing process.

    + Maintain a safe working environment and strictly follow all policies and procedures.

    + Cross-train in different manufacturing locations.

    + Install, connect, and wire electrical components using basic knowledge of electrical concepts.

    + Assist in assembling, labeling, and pulling wires.

    + Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and/or power equipment.

    + Perform control panel assembly, wiring, and connections.

    + Complete testing and quality inspections using multimeter and other equipment.

    + Maintain a satisfactory high level of performance while following appropriate procedures and observing all pertinent safety rules and requirements.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong mechanical skills and experience operating manufacturing large equipment.

    + Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

    + Good communication skills with strong attention to detail.

    + Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

    + Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

    + Light electrical skills with basic knowledge of AC and DC currents.

    + Knowledge of basic hand tools.

    + Ability to read, write, and understand instructions, procedures, drawings, and blueprints.

    + Proficient in the use of all measuring devices.

    + Basic computer knowledge and Microsoft Office suite experience.

    + Ability to effectively communicate verbally or in writing to all departments.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with freight shipping and UPS Worldship.

    + Ability to understand and apply basic blueprint theories.

    + Capable of making immediate, sound decisions.

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cresco, Iowa.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
