Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to join our warehouse and procurement team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating the procurement of goods and materials, managing inventory, and ensuring that all warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position is a one-month contract.
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate the procurement of goods and materials.
+ Manage inventory efficiently using the warehouse management system (Oracle EMM).
+ Perform daily computer tasks including data entry and responding to emails.
+ Engage in production activities, picking, loading, and unloading shipments.
+ Conduct general cleaning and maintenance of the warehouse.
+ Dispose of trash and debris by sweeping and shoveling.
+ Undertake any additional tasks as requested.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in forklift operation.
+ Experience with warehouse management systems.
+ Strong computer skills, particularly in inventory cycle counting and data entry.
+ Familiarity with RF scanners and order pulling.
+ Experience in inventory control.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ At least 2 years of experience in a warehouse environment, preferably in manufacturing or food production.
+ 1 year of lead or managerial experience is preferred but not required.
+ Strong computer software skills in inventory and cycle counting.

Work Environment
The work environment is within a steel, metal, and auto recycling company that has been established for over a century. The Oakland site features both an indoor production area and a large outdoor yard, characterized by heavy machinery, moving parts, loud noises, and dusty conditions. Employees will work in the warehouse at the front of the site. The dress code includes steel toe shoes, pants, a plain t-shirt or sweater, and a vest provided by the company. The shift is the morning shift, with Saturday overtime as needed, requiring openness to working overtime, particularly two Saturdays a month.

This is a Contract position based out of Oakland, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
