    Job Title: Forklift Operator

    Job Description

    As a forklift operator, you will be responsible for operating double-pallet (four fork) fork trucks both inside and outside the plant. Your tasks will include placing racks, emptying debris containers, and assisting with overall plant operations. You will also be required to select and load inventory items onto company and customer vehicles for shipment, report inventory quantities, remove and inspect returned inventory, and promptly report any shortages or quality issues. Monitoring traffic flow through the yard and reporting any issues is crucial, as is reporting fork truck malfunctions. You will complete daily pre-shift inspections and perform simple maintenance tasks on the fork truck.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate double-pallet (four fork) fork truck inside or outside the plant.

    + Assist with placing racks and emptying debris containers.

    + Select and load inventory items onto vehicles for shipment.

    + Report inventory quantities and inspect returned inventory.

    + Report shortages and quality problems immediately.

    + Monitor yard traffic flow and report issues promptly.

    + Complete daily pre-shift fork truck inspection.

    + Perform simple fork truck maintenance tasks.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with heavy industrial equipment such as double pallet forklifts.

    + Minimum experience with sit-down forklifts in a heavy industrial environment.

    + Willingness to work mandatory Saturdays if needed.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with excavators, dozers, backhoes, and skid steers.

    + Familiarity with inventory and material handling.

    + General labor skills and experience with loaders.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, Florida.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
