    Job Title: Forklift Operator

    Job Description

    Join a dynamic team involved in the milling, mixing, and processing of animal feed across two locations dedicated to manufacturing and distribution. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by efficiently picking orders and verifying accuracy using an RF scan gun.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate an electric pallet jack to pick orders of animal feed.

    + Utilize a reach truck to fill in as needed.

    + Lift and handle 30-40lb bags of feed throughout the day.

    + Complete daily bin deck inventory of various products.

    + Ensure bags needed for daily production are on the mezzanine.

    + Sort and separate any damaged products received.

    + Dump trash daily.

    + Retrieve samples requested by mixing operators or quality control managers.

    + Complete daily utility operator's checklist.

    + Unload rail cars received during the night following standard operating procedures.

    + Perform housekeeping duties such as clearing tubes, sweeping, and trash disposal.

    + Carry out any additional duties assigned by management.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with general labor and production work.

    + Proficiency in operating electric pallet jacks and reach trucks.

    + Warehouse and order picking experience.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Any type of farm experience is beneficial.

    + Skills in packing, stacking, and wrapping pallets.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is within an animal feed manufacturing setting, which may have distinct odors. The role requires lifting and stacking 40-50 lb bags of animal feed repeatedly, moving up to 4,000 bags a day. Employees will be on their feet for the entire shift and must be adaptable to varying temperatures, working in cold winter conditions and hot summer days.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hagerstown, Maryland.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr.
