    Job Description

    As a Welder/Fitter, you will play a critical role in supporting the production team to achieve excellence in manufacturing, quality, and production operations. The safety of associates is our highest priority, and you'll be involved in various tasks to ensure successful operations.

    Responsibilities

    + Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications.

    + Determine required equipment, welding method, and welding techniques.

    + Develop templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.

    + Ignite torch and adjust valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.

    + Tack-weld or weld components and assemblies.

    + Heat, form, and dress metal parts using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.

    + Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

    + Remove rough spots from work pieces using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.

    + Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances using precision measuring tools such as micrometer and caliper.

    Essential Skills

    + Mig welding

    + Tig welding

    + Flux core welding

    + Structural welding

    + Blueprint reading

    + Ability to perform welds in multiple styles

    + Experience with large structure welding

    + D1.1, D1.5, or D1.6 Structural Welding Certification

    + Complete Joint Penetration Weld

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in aluminum and mild steel welding

    + Hand grinding skills

    + Fabrication skills

    + Manual press operation is a plus

    + Proficiency with tape measure and precision measuring tools

    Work Environment

     

    You will work in a dynamic Weld Shop/Job Shop environment, handling large parts, sometimes requiring you to get in or on them. This role spans multiple industries, including infrastructure and F&B. Be prepared for varying temperatures, as it can be cold in the winter and warm in the summer.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, Ohio.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
