    Position: Physical Therapist (Posting number 2526-3469)

    Requirements:

    + Must have NYS license as a Physical Therapist

    + Must be on current Monroe County Civil Service Physical Therapist Eligibility ListOR

    + Currently hold the Monroe County Civil Service Title of Physical TherapistOR

    + Have work experience that would qualify for the Physical Therapist titleOR

    + In the event that there is a “no-list”, applicants can be hired provisionally if they complete the following conditions:

    + Meet the Civil Service qualifications for the position

    + Take the Civil Service exam, when offered

    + Are reachable on the Civil Service list

    + Experience working with school-aged children in a school setting

    Responsibilities:

    + Perform physical therapy procedures upon the written prescription or referral from a physician, utilizing an exercise or creative activity treatment program designed and/or adapted to correct or improve functional ability.

    + Evaluates the degree of function and disability of students unless contraindicated by the supervising therapist’s professional judgment or a physician's prescription.

    + Develops a treatment plan based upon findings, short and long-term goals and in accordance with a physician's diagnosis, prescription or referral.

    + Maintains program records including, but not limited to, the service budget, statistical reports of the frequency and types of treatment and number of students treated.

    + Participates in research activities and the development of new treatment programs and techniques in conjunction with other staff and physicians.

    + Participates and assists in the development of educational programs and instructs in-service education programs.
