Customer Service Representative (Remote)

Pay: $18–$20/hr (based on experience or education)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 9:00 AM–5:30 PM EST (45-minute lunch, 38.5 hours/week)

About the Role

As a Customer Service Representative (CSR), you’ll be the first point of contact for our customers, playing a vital role in upholding our organisation’s Core Values. Your mission is to consistently deliver exceptional service by providing accurate, timely, and empathetic support across a range of benefit and claim products.

You’ll work in a remote call centre environment, handling inquiries related to Short-Term Disability (STD), State Disability Insurance (SDI), Absence Management (AM), Long-Term Disability (LTD), Life Insurance, and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D).

Key Responsibilities

+ Respond to inbound calls with accurate, customer-focused information regarding disability, life, and leave claims.

+ Gather and document relevant information to support new and ongoing claims.

+ Maintain detailed and accurate records in the claim system.

+ Issue timely claim acknowledgements and process incoming documents with precision.

+ Meet or exceed call centre performance metrics while remaining compliant with operational standards.

+ Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction.

+ Collaborate with team members to foster a positive, flexible, and high-integrity work environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience: 1–2 years in a call centre or office-based customer service role. A Bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience.

+ Education: High school diploma or GED required.

+ Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and a confident phone presence.

+ Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

+ Industry Knowledge: Experience in insurance, benefits/claims, or financial services is a plus.

+ Professionalism: Demonstrated reliability and tenure in previous roles.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
