Les’ Sanitary,** a Waste Connections Company, is looking to hire a **Non-CDL Driver Trainee/Route Helper** in **Coos Bay, OR.
Starting pay for Non-CDL is $22.00/HR.
+$2.00/hr increase after obtaining your CDL.
Full Time: Monday – Friday,
**Start time varies by route, 3:30am-8:00am.** - Ending when the route is complete, generally 8-11 hour day. Occasional Saturdays.
Year-Round Work! No Seasonal Layoffs. Home Every Night.
In this position, you will be responsible for collecting and loading waste, as well as transporting waste by truck to a landfill and /or transfer station. **Must have a clean driving record, pass criminal background check, & 5 panel drug screening to be eligible for employment.**
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Ability to read route tablet/sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
+ Perform Daily Pre-trip and Post-Trip DOT inspections on vehicles. Such as checking fluids, safety equipment, lights and tire pressure.
+ Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
+ Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
+ Assist multiple lines of business as needed such as container delivery, commercial and residential service routes, bulk item pickup, portable toilets, and other areas as needed.
+ Operate non-cdl vehicles on designated routes
+ Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
+ Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 100 pounds.
+ Ability to mount and dismount the truck multiple times every day while on route
+ Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. Which require following basic safety precautions.
+ The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
Requirements:
+ **Valid driver’s license with Clean Driving Record** (MVR)
+ **Must pass Criminal background check**
+ **Must pass Drug screen**
+ The ability to obtain a CDL through on the job training.
+ Working knowledge of D.O.T. laws
+ Ability to work 40-50 hours a week
+ Ability to read, write and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments in English.
