    Position Overview:

    Do you thrive at the intersection of public policy and public clarity? The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) is seeking a skilled, strategic Deputy Director of Communications to help translate complex health care initiatives into powerful messages that inform and inspire.

     

    As the Deputy Director of Communications, you’ll work closely with program teams to shape initiatives that advance AHCA’s priorities.

     

    You’ll distill policy briefs into compelling talking points, media statements, press releases, and social media content, ensuring the public understands not only what we do, but why it matters.

    Key Responsibilities

    •Read and interpret detailed policy documents to develop clear, concise communications for a variety of audiences

    •Draft official media statements and press releases with precision and impact

    •Collaborate with program areas to frame and promote initiatives that align with AHCA’s mission

    •Provide strategic guidance on messaging to enhance public understanding and engagement

    •Represent AHCA in an on-the-record capacity, as needed

    Ideal Candidate Profile

    •Exceptional writing and editing skills across formats and platforms

    •Strong policy literacy and ability to simplify complex information

    •On-the-record media experience preferred

    •Strategic thinker with a collaborative mindset

    BACKGROUND SCREENING

    It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration that any applicant being considered for employment must successfully complete a State and National criminal history check as a condition of employment before beginning employment, and, if applicable, also be screened in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, F.S., and Chapter 408, F.S.
