The Potter College of Arts & Letters is pleased to announce we are accepting applications for the position of Administrative Coordinator, Communications & Outreach. The Administrative Coordinator, Communications and Outreach will support the Departments of English, History, and Modern Languages by developing and implementing strategic communication and marketing initiatives that promote departmental programs, events, and recruitment efforts. This position is responsible for managing digital media platforms, producing promotional content, coordinating outreach activities, and supervising student workers and interns engaged in communications and event support.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing and Communications (45%)
+ Collaborate with faculty and staff in the English, History, and Modern Languages departments to develop and execute media and marketing strategies for events, programs, and campaigns.
+ Draft, edit, and distribute targeted content for social media channels with input and support from departmental stakeholders.
+ Write and disseminate media releases and manage other external communications as needed.
+ Prepare and proofread professional correspondence, including donor communications and other official materials.
+ Contribute to the development and production of departmental newsletters.
Digital Media and Web Management (15%)
+ Manage and maintain departmental social media accounts to ensure timely, accurate, and engaging content.
+ Maintain and update departmental websites, ensuring accessibility, accuracy, and relevance of content.
Recruitment and Outreach Support (15%)
+ Coordinate and schedule departmental tours for prospective students and their families.
+ Support recruitment, retention, and outreach events through promotional efforts, logistics coordination, and on-site presence as needed.
Student Supervision and Administrative Support (15%)
+ Hire, train, and supervise student workers and interns engaged in communications and outreach work.
+ Oversee student worker scheduling, task assignment, and performance, including timesheet approval and project oversight.
Other Duties (10%)
+ Perform additional tasks as assigned by department heads or unit leaders to support the mission and visibility of the departments.
Job Requirements:
+ Minimum of two years of postsecondary education
+ Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
+ Experience with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter) and website management tools.
+ Strong organizational and project management abilities.
+ Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and with diverse stakeholders.
+ Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
Additional Information:
Hourly Rate: $17.44
