Warehouse Assistant

Perform key leadership and support duties and provide day-to-day backup support in the Warehouse to assist Cluster Leads in ensuring accuracy of workflow and attainment of departmental goals. Covers supervisory duties for exempt level supervisors and is a lead employee for warehouse personnel to support production and operations. Will perform Senior Material Handler duties to assist workflow.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Assist Cluster Leads on assignments / backup to support day-to-day needs. Acting lead in absence of department leadership.

+ Provide leadership and support to all Warehouse areas and will perform SMH tasks.

+ Provide additional training to new hires or transfers to the Warehouse Department.

+ Support all shifts in regard to issues/needs involving material management.

+ Investigate and resolve SAP/system issues within the department and external customers, as needed.

+ Support department generated, computer processes, i.e. empty bin reports, dock appointment database, carrier performance, scrap orders, rejected material areas, cycle counts, pullbacks, KPI's.

+ High level of involvement with Warehouse Department and Myerstown Site OE initiatives. Identify/Recommend process improvement areas and initiate implementation or resolution.

+ Determine overtime needs as required for designated weekend periods, etc., and schedule accordingly.

+ Support International Shipping/Receiving processes.

+ Will provide back-up support to the Logistics Coordinators, as needed.

+ Oversee ordering of materials from 3rd party warehouse for both buildings to support the production schedule.

+ May be required to present topics at monthly departmental safety meetings (i.e. safety, QIE, MIE).

+ May perform other duties as assigned.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

+ High School diploma or GED

+ At least 2 years leadership experience in Warehousing or materials management (or a combination of experience).

+ Excellent organizational and communications skills are required.

+ Must have ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations.

+ Excellent computer skills required, and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) is required.

+ An advanced understanding of SAP required. Previous experience with investigating and resolving SAP Warehouse/Production/Inventory related issues required.

+ A very thorough knowledge of the plant operations and material process flow is required.

+ Demonstrated ability to work in a positive fashion in a team-oriented environment required.

+ Demonstrated ability to work safely in a production environment required.

+ Must be flexible and willing to work outside normal 2nd shift hours, as needed.

+ Must be able to maintain a valid driver’s license.

+ Must be physically able to operate a forklift truck; forklift truck experience preferred.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $47,466.75 - $71,200.13. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
